NCP CC meeting: Leaders suggest opting for executive presidential system

KATHMANDU: The Central Committee meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is holding discussions on political dossier presented by Chairman duo on Saturday.

Team leaders of 15 groups started presenting their conclusion in the meeting from Friday. Four groups presented their reports yesterday and the remaining 11 groups presented their reports today.

Now, the party Chairman will be responding to the questions raised by the central committee members.

While airing their view following group-wise discussions, the team leaders lamented the leadership arguing that groupism and factionalism have become rampant in the party.

Almost all of the leaders aired their views on the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and urged the party leadership not to hurry to get it ratified through Parliament.

Likewise, central members also demanded to investigate the property of high-ranking leaders of the party. They suggested forming a probe team for that.

Similarly, some leaders pitched for changing the forms of governance and suggested to opt for a presidential system with an executive president.
