KATHMANDU: The government of Nepal has claimed that there was no risk of a novel coronavirus in Nepal.

Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai said that though Nepal was adopting high alert measures, there was no such threat in the country.

In an interaction with concerned bodies here today, Minister Bhattarai said all possible measures were adopted to prevent the risk.

“Such measures have been adopted and health desks were established at the Tribhuvan International Airport and border adjoining China,” he said.

The government has daily held discussions with concerned bodies to prevent the risk after the coronavirus outbreak in neighboring China.

A high-level inter-ministry committee has been formed under the chair of the Health Minister to monitor the coronavirus risk.
