Biplav cadres, police exchange fires in Surkhet

SURKHET: Cadres of the Netra Bikram Chand-led faction and police exchanged fire at Cheneri Taal in Surkhet today.

Biplav cadres targeted a team of police personnel while carrying out a search operation to nab the faction’s local leader Bajra Bahadur Shahi.

According to police, Biplav’s cadres fired three rounds targeting the police personnel. Meanwhile, police fired two rounds in retaliation.

No human casualties were reported so far. The Biplav cadres fled the scene following the incident.

Meanwhile, police have intensified a search operation after the incident.
