Home Minister Thapa stresses on effective measures to tackle disaster



KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa has pointed out the need to adopt effective measures to tackle the disaster that surface in the winter season.

Snowfall and cold wave adversely affects the normal life of the people across the country in the winter season, therefore, precaution should be adopted, Minister Thapa said.

Speaking in the 9th meeting of the National Disaster Reduction and Management Committee here today, Minister
Thapa directed the concerned bodies to make effective preparations to lessen the impact caused by these adverse situations.

He said, “Situation is more complicated this year due to COVID-19 pandemic therefore extra measures should be adopted.”

Minister for Federal Affairs Hridayesh Tripathi, Minister for Urban Development Krishna Gopal Shrestha, secretaries at different ministries were present in the meeting.
