Kathmandu Valley witnesses 530 new COVID-19 cases

KATHMANDU: As many as 530 persons have been infected with COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 409 cases have been confirmed in Kathmandu, 36 in Bhaktapur, and 85 in Lalitpur.

With this Kathmandu has got 88,303 cases of coronavirus till date. Out of which, 386 patients have succumbed to death, whereas 81,110 have recovered from the pandemic.

Similarly, the number of coronavirus cases has reached 13,359 till date in Lalitpur. Out of which, 11,884 have returned home after recovery. The district has seen 114 deaths so far.

Likewise, 93 people have lost their lives due to the coronavirus pandemic in Bhaktapur district. The district coronavirus case tally has reached 7,995 till today.

Meanwhile, 1,304 people have been diagnosed coronavirus positive in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, Nepal’s COVID-19 tally has reached 233,452 with fresh cases as of Tuesday afternoon.

A total of 2,073 individuals got discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours while the number of people winning the battle against the virus reached 216,594 in the country.

Nepal currently has 16,633 active cases.

Likewise, 616 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.

As many as 21 people succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours taking the COVID-19 death tally in the country to 1,529, the Ministry confirmed.

Meanwhile, a total of 433 COVID-19 patients in Nepal are undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and ventilator support.

A total of 370 patients are in ICU and 63 on ventilator support.

According to the Ministry of Health, 46 persons are undergoing treatment in ICU in Province 1, five in Province 2, 142 in Bagmati Province, 89 in Gandaki Province, 72 in Lumbini Province, nine in Karnali Province, and seven in Sudurpaschim Province.

A total of 11 in Province 1, two in Province 2; 32 in Bagmati, 13 in Gandaki Province, three in Lumbini and two in Sudurpaschim Province are on ventilator support.
