Sub Inspector nabbed with Rs 50,000 bribe



KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested Sub Inspector of Police with Rs 50,000 bribe in Saptari.

A CIAA team deployed from Itahari caught Sub Inspector Sikandar Prasad Kanu with the kickback he sought from a service seeker for handing back an impounded motorcycle.

CIAA Spokesperson Taranath Adhikari said that Sub Inspector Kanu had given the money to local businessman Jayanarayan Yadav through Constable Ramishwor Mandal.

The anti-graft body said that all of them were nabbed from Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality-1, adding that a further investigation was underway.
