5 more succumb to coronavirus in Jhapa and Banke

KATHMANDU: Five more people have succumbed to coronavirus in Jhapa and Banke on Sunday.

According to Jhapa public health office, three people have died of coronavirus in Jhapa.

The deaths are from Damak Municipality, Gaura Daha Municipality and Kamal Rural Municipality. All three dead today are male.

With the death of 50-year-old male on Sunday, the coronavirus death toll in Damak has reached 16 till today.

Similarly, the COVID-19 death toll in Kamal Rural Municipality has reached three after the death of a 72-year-old male.

Likewise, Gauradaha in the district has reported one more death on Saturday night making the coronavirus death tolls in the Municipality to six so far.

There have been 43 coronavirus-related death cases in Jhapa till date.

Likewise, Banke reported two more COVID-19 related deaths today.

According to Naresh Shrestha, the Coronavirus focal person of District Health Office Banke, the district has seen two more coronavirus-related deaths.

He informed that Sunday’s death cases are one each from Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City and Tikapur Municipality.

“A 60-year-old woman of Nepalgunj-20 Ranjha and a 60-year-old male of Tikapur-1 Kailali, have died while undergoing treatment at the Kohalpur-based Teaching Hospital in Banke today,” Shrestha said.

He added that with Sunday’s cases added to the COVID-19 death tally, 31 people have died of the pandemic in Banke whereas the number of coronavirus related deaths of the people outside Banke who died while undergoing treatment has reached 20 as of now.
