Lok Dharshan Regmi recommended Ambassador to UK



KATHMANDU: The government has recommended former Chief Secretary Lok Dharshan Regmi as the Nepali Ambassador to the United Kingdom on Thursday.

A cabinet meeting held on this morning  decided to recommend Regmi as the Nepali Ambassador to the United Kingdom (UK), informed Minister for Agriculture Ghanashyam Bhusal.

Regmi, who served as the chief secretary of the Nepal government, resigned from the post today even though his official tenure would end on October 19.

The cabinet meeting today made various decisions today.

Foreign Secretary Shaker Das Bairagi has been promoted to the post of Chief Secretary while Former Finance Minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada has been recommend as the Nepali Ambassador to the United States of America.

Now, the Parliamentary Hearing Committee will have to endorse the name of Dr Khatiwada and Regmi before being appointed as ambassadors by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari.
