Two girls rescued while being trafficked to India

KATHMANDU: Police have rescued two Nepali girls from Nepal-India border checkpoint Bhantabari of Koshi rural municipality-8, Sunsari.

They were rescued by a joint security team from Nepal and India while they were being trafficked to the southern neighbor for offering them to god, said DSP Narendra Kumar Karki.

Originally from Saptari, the two girls aged 19 and 22 were intercepted and rescued from the Nepal-India border area.

Meanwhile, police have arrested 29-year-old Mohammad Sahil of Krishnasawaran rural municipality-4 and Jiwachha Kumar Sah from Lahan municipality-19, Siraha for trafficking them to India, said Karki.

Police said they are investigating the case after taking Mohammad and Jiwachha Kumar into custody.
