First International medalist Jit Bahadur KC tests positive for COVID-19

KATHMANDU: Jit Bahadur KC, who won the first international medal for Nepal, has tested positive for COVID-19.

His son Yagendra KC confirmed that he was taken to the hospital after he complained of stomach-related complications.

“Initially, we were taken to Vayodha Hospital for a checkup. But before that, the hospital said that the PCR test needs to be done. Therefore, when we tested at the Star Hospital, he was tested positive for pandemic virus,” he said.

Yogendra said that he did not have any symptoms of coronavirus and was staying at his home in Kalanki.

KC, 72, had earlier won a bronze medal for Nepal at the 1973 Asian Athletics Championships in the Philippines. He had earlier competed in the 1972 Olympics.
