68-year-old woman dies in Birgunj, Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll hits 58

BIRGUNJ: A woman undergoing treatment at Narayani Voyodha Hospital in Birgunj has succumbed to coronavirus on Saturday evening.

A 68-year-old woman from Birgunj-16 died this evening after being admitted to the hospital for treatment for fever and pneumonia, said Dr. Niraj Singh of Narayani Hospital.

A report received late Friday night had confirmed infection in the women.

With the death, the number of deaths due to coronavirus infection in Parsa district has reached 15 while the national tally has hit 58.

Earlier, a 50-year-old woman from Birgunj Metropolitan City-16 had died at the hospital on Friday.
