 MFD predicts heavy rains until Monday 



KATHMANDU: With the low pressure monsoon trough locating near Nepal, the country has been witnessing rains since the last few days.

According to Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), the weather is generally cloudy across the country and the rainfall is occurring in various parts of the country including Province 1, Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province.

The light to moderate rains is occurring in some of the other provinces, currently.

The Department has forecast heavy rains for the next three days in various parts of the country.

The weather will remain cloudy with chances of light to moderate rain in most parts of the country on Saturday afternoon.

Similarly, heavy rains are expected in one or two places of Province 1, Province 2, Gandaki Province, Province 5 and Sudurpashchim Province, said the Department.

People, especially those living on the banks of rivers, have been asked to take precaution saying that floods and landslides might occur.
