‘COVID-19 cannot fully be controlled unless India remains free from pandemic’

KATHMANDU: Minister for Social Development of Province 1 Jivan Ghimire said the coronavirus infection cannot be fully controlled in Province 1 unless India will remain free from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Talking to journalists at the provincial ministry, Ghimire said Province 1 will not be free from coronavirus unless India brings the COVID-19 under control as Nepali people coming from the southern neighbor are being diagnosed with the coronavirus.

He further said the Nepali people who have arrived from third countries are being sent to quarantines of their respective countries after keeping them in holding areas.

The risk of coronavirus has grown higher of late after the lockdown was relaxed to ease the daily life of people despite requests to maintain social distancing.
