11 victims of Banke road accident identified

BANKE: The identity of 11 people who were killed in a road accident on Sunday at Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality along the East-West Highway has been revealed.

Of the deceased, 11 are identified while one is yet to be identified, said Hridaya Sapkota, police inspector at the district police office, Banke.

According to him, the deceased are Buddhiram BK, Bhim Bahadur BK, Dil Bahadur BK, Narendra BK, Mohanchandra BK, Ram Bahadur Pun, Purna Bahadur Pun, Sita Pun, Dan Bahadur Khadka, Pawan Bhandari and Ritesh Khadka.

Similarly, four injured are in critical condition and undergoing treatment at Bheri Hospital, Banke. Police further shared that all passengers were heading home from India. Most of them were the permanent residents of Salyan district.

According to Bheri Hospital Superintendent Dr. Prakash Thapa, they all tested negative for COVID-19. The accident took place on Sunday night.
