DAMAULI: A 22-month-old child has been killed by a leopard at Ratamata, Shuklagandaki Municipality-3 of Tanahu district on Monday.
Police identified the child as Rabin Nepali. The toddler who had been eating sitting on the porch of the house had suddenly disappeared.
The boy was found dead at Dhangdhunge Teenpokhari community forest, a kilomtre away from the house while search for the missing boy, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office Tanahu, Lilaraj Lamichhane, said.
According to him, more than 70 percent of the boy’s body was found eaten up by the animal. The locals around the area are terrified after this incident. Before this, six children have lost their life to leopard attack at various localities in Bhanu municipality of Tanahu in a period of one and half years.
Meanwhile, the Division Forest Office Tanahu has provided Rs 50,000 to the boy’s parents for performing the death rituals of the boy.
