PM Oli holds talks with his Indian counterpart

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has held talks with newly elected Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.

During a half-an-hour meeting held at Hyderabad House, Prime Minister Oli and Modi discussed age-old bilateral ties, mutual interest and implementation of past agreements, said Raveesh Kumar, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, India. Both expressed commitment in further deepening relations, in particular between our peoples of our countries.

This is Oli’s second official visit to India after he took charge as the prime minister of Nepal for the second time one-and-a-half years ago. Earlier, Oli had visited India in March, 2018.

Oli took part in the swearing-in ceremony of Modi on Thursday. Following the ceremony, Oli had held meetings with President Ram Nath Kovind and other heads of state from BIMSTEC countries.

दिल्लीस्थित हैदरावाद हाउसमा भएको भेटवार्तामा दुई प्रधानमन्त्रीबीच आपसी हित, यसअघि भएका सम्झौताको कार्यान्वयनका विषयमा छलफल भएको भारतीय विदेश मन्त्रालयका प्रवक्त रवीस कुमारले जनाएका छन् ।

दोस्रोपटक भारतको प्रधानमन्त्री निर्वाचित भएका शपथ ग्रहण समारोहमा सहभागी हुन प्रधानमन्त्री ओली बिहीबार दिल्ली प्रस्थान गरेका थिए ।

भेटवार्ताका क्रममा प्रधानमन्त्री ओलीले मोदीलाई दोस्रो पटक प्रधानमन्त्री चयन भएको अवसरमा बधाई दिए । साथै मोदीको दोस्रो प्रधानमन्त्री कालमा नेपाल र भारतबीचको सम्बन्ध थप प्रगाढ हुने ओलीले विश्वास व्यक्त गरे ।

भेटवार्ताका क्रममा ओलीले मोदीलाई नेपाल भ्रमणको निम्तो समेत दिएका भारतस्थित नेपाली दूतावास स्रोतले जनाएको छ । जवाफमा मोदीले  उपयुक्त समयमा छिट्टै नेपाल भ्रमणमा आउने बताएका दूतावासका एक अधिकारीले जानकारी दिए ।
