Industrialist Prabhakar Rana passes away

KATHMANDU: Prabhakar Sumsher Rana, a pioneer of hotel and tourism industry in Nepal, has passed away at the age of 84 at Rehabilitation Center in New York, his family sources have said.

The founding chairman of Soaltee Hotel was admitted to a hospital since the last one year for medical treatment.

Prabhakar was also the founding members of several business ventures such as Sipradi Trading Company, Surya Tobacco, Surya Enterprises, Himalaya Godrik, and Himal International Power Corporation Ltd.

His final cremation will be performed in New York, family sources said.
