Rain amid thunderstorm forecast due to westerly winds



KATHMANDU: The weather will be generally to partly cloudy and rainfall amidst thunderstorm is forecast in the eastern, central and hilly regions of the country due to westerly winds.

The weather will be clear in the remaining parts of the country, according to Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD). Since this is a pre-monsoon season, it will not rain continuously. However, more rainfall is expected in the mid and eastern hills, said meteorologist Barun Paudel.

Likewise, the weather will be cloudy in Pokhara in the western region. According to Paudel, there is possibility of rain and cloudy weather starting Saturday due to rising temperature in the western tarai.

A total of 11 milliliters of rainfall was recorded in Kathmandu in 24 hours.
