Tulasa Khatri likely to face court martial



KATHMANDU: It was only on October 22 that Nepal Army had shared a Facebook post feeling proud of Tulasa Khatri, its member, for breaking the 10-year-old national record in 400 m. race, athletics.

Now, the same player is likely to be court marshaled for ‘breaking the regulations and betraying the nation’.

While taking part in the 7th Army Sports held in Wuhan, China she had beaten the previous record of 59.90 seconds by completing it in 59.57 seconds then.

It is reported that Khatri who was in close camp as the preparation for the South Asian Games (SAG) event has evaded the forthcoming events and flown to Qatar.

She has represented the nation and army in many international events. The last national record-breaking event in her life was the 7th Army Sports held in Wuhan, China.

Khatri, a prospective medal holder in SAG in 400 m and 400 m hurdles, had shared that she was going to temple and late in the evening had informed she would not be able to attend a practice session.

According to army sources, Khatri is likely to face court martial soon as she had ‘broken the regulations and betrayed the nation’.
