PANCHTHAR: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Basant Kumar Nembang cast his vote at the polling booth in ward no. 1 of Phidim Municipality of Panchthar district this morning. The by-election was held for the post of ward chair of Phidim municipality-1.
Minister Nembang voted at the ‘d’ polling booth at the Phidim Secondary School voting center. He was inquired about the situation of voting in the district with election officials on the occasion.
Meanwhile in Panchthar, election for three local level positions is taking place in a peaceful atmosphere. Election is taking place for the post of Chairperson of Falgundanda Rural Municipality, ward chair of Phidim Municipality-1 and ward chair of Hilihang rural Municipality-7.
Voting began in all the 31 polling centres of 17 electoral centers in the district at 7:00 am, said Chief District Officer Murari Wosti. Some 1,500 security persons have been mobilized for security of the election. A total of 15,800 voters are eligible to vote in the by-election taking place for three positions in Panchthar district today.
