KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered the police administration to keep the six gamblers, who had registered a habeas corpus petition on Sunday seeking their release, in custody.

A single bench of Judge Purushottam Bhandari issued the order today afternoon while responding to a habeas corpus petition registered at the SC seeking the release of six gamblers.

Police had produced the six ‘VIP’ gamblers at the court today.

The SC ordered the police administration to produce all 12 gamblers within 24 hours.

The Metropolitan Police Circle, Maharajgunj had on October 27, arrested 25 gamblers from a gambling den at Maharajgunj in Kathmandu.
