Youth arrested for killing cow



BHAKTAPUR: A youth has been arrested on the charge of killing a cow.

Police on Friday afternoon arrested Chiran Puri, 25, of Sindhupalchowk and currently living in Changunarayan Municipality-7, Bageshwori Mahadevsthan.

Acting on information, a police team deployed from Metropolitan Police Range, Kharipati arrested him on the charge of killing a cow at a cow farm with a hoe and a timber.

Police said they are investigating the case further.

Provisions of Criminal (Code) Act 2017 prohibit the slaughter of cow and oxen, and if found guilty, the perpetrator(s) must serve 3-year-imprisonment.
