Fugitive robbery convict Lama held after 26 yrs

KAVRE: Police have arrested a man who was on the run after being convicted of a robbery case 26 years ago.

On June 1, 1993, Kathmandu District Court had convicted Lama of a robbery case and slapped him with a 45-day jail term along with a fine of Rs 215, 475. He had gone into hiding since then.

The arrested Lama has been produced before District Court, Kathmandu, said DSP Deepak Giri of Distroct Police Office, Dhulikhel.

Similarly, police have arrested 18 robbery, polygamy, rape convicts including Lama in the last one week, said DSP Giri.
