Unidentified man sets himself on fire



WASHINGTON: An unidentified man set himself on fire on the Ellipse part in downtown Washington DC on Wednesday, Daily Mail reported.

A footage posted on Daily Mail shows a man walking calmly across the Ellipse near the Washington Mall, an area popular with tourists, with flames engulfing his body.

After several seconds, a security personnel could be seen running towards him with a fire extinguisher to put out the blaze.

Severely injured man was transported to hospital for treatment. It occurred less than a mile from the White House.

There have been reports of several security incidents in the vicinity of the White House in recent years.
