Process of procuring e-buses for Sajha goes nowhere



KATHMANDU: The process of procuring electric buses for Sajha Yatayat is yet to be finalized even after three months the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport purchased shares worth Rs 3 billion of the organization.

The government has asked Sajha to put the bus purchase process of the hold before Dashain citing the difference in the specifications issued by the government and the specification mentioned by the organization in the procurement process.

Rajeshwor Gyawali, Spokesperson for the ministry said they held two rounds of talks regarding the procurement process but no decision was reached.

“The procurement process will start after the next meeting finalizes the issue,” he said.

State 3 has invested Rs 300 million, Kathmandu Metropolis 100 million and Lalitpur Metropolis and Sajha Yatayat Rs 250 million each to procure electric buses.
