Sudan dissolves ex-president Omar al-Bashir’s party

SUDAN: The party of ousted former president Omar al-Bashir has been dissolved in Sudan by passing a law.

Bashir, who seized power in a 1989 coup, ruled Sudan for almost three decades. He was overthrown by a protest movement in April this year.

The country is currently led by a joint civilian and military council, and a civilian-led cabinet headed by Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok. (Agencies)
