Rains ravage Bihar, UP: Death toll crosses 80



NEW DELHI: Incessant rains have thrown normal life out of gear in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

More than 80 people have died in the last few days due to floods, India media reports have said.

On Sunday, three people died in Bhagalpur district of Bihar after a wall collapsed on them. Several others are feared to be trapped, police have said.

Likewise, four people died in Khagaul after a tree fell on an auto owing to heavy rainfall.

According to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), they are carrying out relief and rescue operations round the clock.

In Patna, Bihar’s capital, floodwater has entered the residential areas as well as hospitals.

A number of trains have been canceled. (Agencies)
