Man swept away by flood in Khotang



KHOTANG: Dal Bahadur Bishwakarma of Mauwabote, Baraha Pokhari rural municipality-6, has died after being swept away by the flooded Dukchengwa Khola River on Saturday.

The flood was triggered by incessant rain since the last few days.

The 56-year-old Bishwakarma, who was swept away by the stream while crossing it, was found dead some 100 meters downstream.

His body was found stuck in a tree on the bank of the river, locals said.

A police team assigned by the Area Police Office Chisapani had reached the incident site for rescue immediately after getting information about it. The incident site is in the southern part of the district.
