With no consensus on departments’ chiefs, Nepal Communist Party Chairmen embarking on foreign trips

Dahal setting off to Dubai Tuesday, Oli leaving for Singapore Saturday



KATHMANDU: At the time when the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has failed to select leadership for its departments, Chairmen of the party are commencing on foreign trips.

Prime Minister and NCP Chairman KP Sharma Oli will leave for Singapore on Saturday while another Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda will head for the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday.

A source at PM Secretariat said that the prime minister will be embarking on a 10-day trip to Singapore for a health checkup.

PM Oli had on Sunday had visited the Nepal Army Hospital in Chhauni for a health checkup where he had undergone a biopsy of his kidneys. Doctors attending to the prime minister had suggested him to undergo health checkup in Singapore after detecting irregular heartbeat.

Likewise, Chairman Dahal is leaving for Dubai for treatment of his wife Sita Dahal. They will be accompanied by daughter Ganga and a granddaughter.

The Secretariat members of the party were briefed about the medical trips of the Chairmen during the meeting of the party held on Monday afternoon to pick chiefs of the party’s departments.
