KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has made an amendment in its political document by removing the proposal for an armed struggle that said the ‘party would not step back to start an armed movement if the situation demanded so’.
The party said NCP would now accept peaceful movement and multiparty contest. Party Chairmen KP Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal had jointly edited the document, which has been published recently.
The decision has been termed as ‘carefully considered’ since it would not be judicious to cite several issues in the political document that might have a negative implication.
This has also seen as a move to ensure that leaders and cadres of the erstwhile CPN-UML and the Maoist are not disappointed.
