Driver injured as car turns turtle in Jamal



KATHMANDU: A man sustained critical injuries in a card accident in Jamal on Saturday morning.

A car, Ba 11 Cha 3604, met with the accident when it was heading to Jamal from Kesharmal. The car turned turtle in the accident but fortunately no human casualties took place.

Car driver Bijen Duwal Shrestha along with other three passengers traveling in the car sustained injuries, said police.

“The engine of the car has come off and that the car turned turtle after skidding few meters ahead,” said Daya Krishna Bhatta, Inspector of Metropolitan Traffic Police Sector, Durbar Marg. The ill-fated car happened to strike a parked microbus after it hit the railing in front of Yellow Pagoda in Jamal.

An over-speed under the influence of alcohol is said to be the cause behind the accident.
