ABU DHABI: In his renewed attack on Iran, U.S. National Security Adviser John Bolton held Iranian naval mines as likely handlers used in UAE tankers attacks.

He said that attacks on oil tankers off the coast of the United Arab Emirates this month were the work of “naval mines almost certainly from Iran”. The comment was made during a briefing to journalists in the Emirati capital of Abu Dhabi.

Bolton also accused Iran of a failed attack recently on the Saudi oil-port city of Yanbu — the final point of Saudi Arabia’s east-west pipeline. The port city was recently targeted by Yemen’s Houti rebels in a coordinated drone attack. Bolton suspects Iran behind the failed attack proof of which is yet to come. (Agencies)
