Woman poll staffer dies of heart attack in India

NEW DELHI: Poll woman staffer, Sunanda Kotekar, 50, died after suffering a heart attack ahead of voting in Chhindwara of Madhya Pradesh, Indian media reported.

Kotekar, deployed at Lodhikheda polling booth in Chhindwara, said she felt uneasy on Sunday night, and died of heart attack before she could be provided any medical assistance, reports said.

Voting began on Monday morning in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh’s six Lok Sabha seats. (Agencies)
