KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister and NCP leader Jhalanath Khanal has said that socialism is the ultimate goal of socialist revolution.
Speaking at a seminar on ‘socialist revolution and labor movement’ organised by the World Trade Union Federation here Friday, he said that society can head towards socialism only if socialism is the real goal of socialist movement. “The Nepali society is an independent capitalist society and it is the work of socialist revolution to change a capitalist society,” he said.
Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Ghanashyam Bhusal said we can head towards socialism through the phase of development of national capital. “Development of national capital means that capital which creates employment,” he added. Marxist thinker Gopi Raman Upadhyaya said labourers should own labour.
On the occasion, a book titled ‘Next Labor Movement and Labour Revolution’ by CPN central member Prem Kumar Khanal was unveiled on the occasion.
