MUMBAI: Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray, will take oath as the 18th chief minister of Maharashtra on Thursday evening at Mumbai’s iconic Shivaji Park.

The Shiv Sena has, meanwhile, asked the Indian Congress to agree to refrain from mentioning the term “secular” in a Common Minimum Program (CMP) that has been prepared with their alliance partner in Maharashtra.

The CMP is set to be released before Thackeray, 59, is sworn in at 7 pm today.

He succeeds Devendra Fadnavis of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). (Agencies)
