KATHMANDU: A political dossier of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has admired China for its economic development while has refrained from criticizing India and USA. Earlier, such dossiers used to lambaste India and USA for their role in Nepal and internationally.

“China has made a qualitative leap in the economy at the time the world’s economy is going through serious trouble and recession. The northern neighbor has established itself as a second economic power and is on a way to occupy the first spot in the near future. The fantastic achievement China has secured in a few decades is inspiring,” the dossier mentions.

The dossier states that Nepal should take advantage of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), a global development strategy adopted by the Chinese government involving infrastructure development and investments.

The ruling party has concluded that the domination of western powers has weakened due to projects and organizations forwarded by China.

“Some 70 countries around the globe have supported BRI. Unprecedented development achieved by China, BRICS, an association of five major emerging national economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank have weakened domination of western powers in policy and decision makings,” the document reads.

The dossier has expressed discontent to the US international role but has not criticized pinpointing it. The document has only mentioned US Naval presence in the Indian Ocean.

The dossier doesn’t talk about trade embargo imposed by India following the promulgation of the new constitution. It states that Nepal should take benefit from India along with China.
