Death toll rises to 43 at a Congo mine collapse

KINSHASA: The number of miners killed by a landslide at a mine in southeast Congo rose to 43 today, media reports have said.

Local officials said the toll climb further as search for the missing workers continues in the copper and cobalt mine.

Officials said that other bodies are still lying under the rubble. According to them, the miners were working there illegally without approval or permits. (Agencies)
