Nepal clinches ACC U-16 Eastern Region- 2019 title

KATHMANDU: Nepal has clinched the title of the ACC U-16 Eastern Region- 2019 defeating Malaysia by 59 runs in the match played at Prem Tinsulanonda International School, Chiang Mai, Thailand on Sunday.

Chasing the 141 runs target set by Nepal, Malaysia managed to get only 81 runs on the board in 34.5 overs losing all wickets.

Restricting Malaysia to the total, Nepal’s Bishal Kumar Patel took four wickets. Likewise, Deepak Bohara sent three Malaysian batsmen back to the pavilion.

Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, Nepal posted 140 runs on the board losing nine wickets in the stipulated 35 overs. Prashant Mahat made 40 runs off 67 balls smashing five fours. Deepak Bohara and Bishal Bikram KC made 23 and 17 runs respectively.

For Malaysia, Sachinu Hettige took three wickets and Jitendra Muraly sent two Nepali batsmen back to the pavilion.
