Crane collapse kills four in Seattle



SEATTLE: Four persons, three men and a woman, died when a construction crane operating at the site of a future Google campus collapsed from the roof of a building and toppled across a Seattle intersection, local media said.

Three people have been injured, authorities said.

The crane collapsed, crushed five cars and damaged a sixth car at the intersection of Fairview Avenue North and Mercer Street.

Two of the dead were working in the crane while the two others were in separate vehicles struck on the street below, media report said.

The cause of the crane failure was under investigation, authorities said. (Reuters)
