Minister Magar says complaint at CIAA intended to assassinate her character

KATHMANDU: Minister for Water Supply Bina Magar has said that her serious attention has been drawn towards a complaint filed by leader of Bibeksheel Nepali Dal Ranju Darshana against her at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) alleging her of irregularities in Melamchi Drinking Water Project.

Issuing a statement on Wednesday, Minister Magar said that the complaint was intended to assassinate her character being politically biased. Saying the project is linked with pride of Nepalis, Minister Magar has condemned the ‘ill-intended’ act.

Minister Magar said that the project took speed and the work of tunnel construction completed after she took charge of the office while accepting that some problems have aroused after Italian company CMC abandoned the project. The statement added the company left the project after it went bankrupt.
