Seven dead in separate road mishaps



KATHMANDU: The number of people killed in Makawanpur jeep accident has risen to five.

The jeep (Na 1 Ja 3433) coming to Kathmandu from Rautahat met with the accident at Indrasarobar Rural Municipality-3 in Makawanpur, killing three persons on the spot and two others while receiving treatment.

The deceased are Manish Bishwakarma, 21, Srijana Bishwakarma, 20, and Kedar Prasad Timalsina, 65, of Chandrapur Municipality in Rautahat district. The identity of the two others is not ascertained so far.

Among the injured, driver Anil Bishwakarma of Hetaunda-17, Jaisa Sah and Nanda Kishor Sah of Rautahat, and Ranjit Rijal of Bagmati Municipality from Sarlahi district are receiving treatment in different hospitals in the capital city.

Meanwhile, two persons died after a tipper (Na 2 Ka 338) carrying garbage skidded off the road at Tarakeshwor in Kathmandu on Friday. Tipper driver Maila Lama, 30, of Makawanpur district and co-driver Kamal Lama of Dhadhing district died on the spot after the accident, the police said.
