SAG medal winners Shakya and Basnet honored



KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), Ward No 31 has honored SAG gold medalist Ayasha Shakya and the winner of silver medal Ashish Basnet at a program in the capital today.

Shakya had won two gold medals in Taekwondo’s single pumsae and a pair category above 29 years of age group.

Basnet, meanwhile, won the silver in basketball in the regional event that Nepal hosted on December 1-10.

Shakya was awarded Rs 50,000 and Ashish was honored with a cash prize of Rs 25,000.

Taekwondo coach Deepak Bista, Karate coach Tulasi Maharjan, Basketball coach Niranjan Satyal and Badminton’s Kiran Thapa were also felicitated on the occasion.
