Nepalgunj CIAA receives more complaints of local levels



NEPALGUNJ: Complaints filed at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Nepalgunj contact office are mostly related to local levels.

In the first five months of the current fiscal year 2019/20, a total of 433 complaints have been filed at the CIAA contact office.

Among them, more than 50 percent of complaints are related to local levels.

Banke, Bardiya and Dang districts fall under the jurisdiction of CIAA Nepalgunj contact office.

Around 130 complaints are related to federal affairs, while 85 towards the education sector at the local level from July 17 to December 16. They are currently under investigation, according to Ganesh Gaire, Office Chief of CIAA contact office in Nepalgunj.

He stated that 50 complaints related to forest and environment have been filed against the local levels at CIAA, Nepalgunj.

According to Gaire, complaints related to issues such as working procedure, criteria, the formation of users’ committee, and contract system have been filed.

In the last fiscal year, 2018/19, a total of 128 complaints were registered at the office. Among them, 116 cases were related to local levels.

Likewise, 67 complaints related to local levels have been filed from Banke district alone.
