Five books shortlisted for Shami Foundation’s award



KATHMANDU: Five books have been shortlisted for the ‘ Badalbhitrako Gham Puraskar’ a literary prize institutionalized by the Shami Literary Foundation.

Those creations are ‘Abishranta’, a novel by Ambika Aryal; ‘Aakashako Dar’, a collection of essays by Narendra Raj Poudel; ‘Cheers’, a storybook by Dilip Shah; Laxman Poudel’s novel ‘ Sunpani’ and ‘Shaharbinako Rahar’, an anthology of poems by Damodar Pudasaini ‘Kishor’.

The award carries a purse of Rs 111,111. According to Foundation chair Pradeep Nepal, earlier it had summoned for the submission of literary creations for the award and it received a total of 84 creations.

Among them, five were shortlisted and one will be picked for the award which will be presented on coming March 1.
