Home Minister Thapa directs to clear traffic gridlock along Naubise-Kalanki road

KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa has directed the concerned authorities to take necessary steps to clear the traffic gridlock along Naubise-Kalanki road section.

Saying that the ministry has received complaints that passengers have been hit-hard by the traffic jam along the road section, Minister Thapa directed the officials to clear the jam at the earliest.

Minister Thapa ordered Kathmandu Chief District Officer Janakraj Dahal, DIG Sailesh Thapa Chhetri of Metropolitan Police Office and SSP Bhim Prasad Dhakal of Metropolitan Traffic Police Division to take necessary initiation to clear the traffic gridlock.

The traffic snarls along the road section caused the death of a patient on Friday.

Normally, it takes not more than two hours to reach Kalanki of Kathmandu from Dhading. However, travel time has significantly increased due to the repair works of the road. It takes more than 10 hours to travel the same distance.
