SOLUKHUMBU: Most of the meat shops at the district headquarters of Solukhumbu district are found to be selling expired and substandard meet.

A joint team deployed by Solududhkunda Municipality and District Administration Office of Solukhumbu district has found most of the meet shops breaching the standards set by the Department of Food Technology And Quality Control.

When the team manned by administrators reached the meat shops in Salleri on Thursday, the butchers ran helter-skelter.

Chief District Adhikari Laxmi Kumari Shahi said he has given a 15-day deadline to the butchers to come under the set standards.
