Veteran director-actress Vijaya Nirmala dies at 75

MUMBAI: Veteran director and actress G Vijaya Nirmala passed away on Thursday at a hospital in Hyderabad.

She was 75. Her son, actor Naresh, announced her death on Twitter and revealed that the last rites will be held tomorrow.

Though she began her career as an actress, she later took on many roles in her career as a producer and a director. She directed 44 films in Telugu. In 2002, she entered the Guinness Book of Records as the female director of the most number of films.
