 DPM Pokharel leaves for US to attend UN conference



KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister, Ishwor Pokharel has left for the US on Tuesday.

He is leading a Nepali delegation to ministerial level conference on capacity building of peace keeping armies and security under the UN peace keeping mission.

He is scheduled to address the conference at the UN Headquarters on March 29. He will be delivering a speech on contribution by Nepal Army and Nepal Police under UN peace mission. He will be also highlighting on making peacekeeping more effective and results-oriented.

During his stay in the US, the DPM is scheduled to hold meetings with UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, Deputy Secretary Generals including that looking after peace keeping department, and senior US security officials. He will return Nepal on April 3.
