MCC not part of Indo-Pacific Strategy: Minister Baskota



KATHMANDU: Government Spokesperson Gokul Baskota has said that the ongoing debate on Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) was only politically guided.

In a press meet organized to share the latest Cabinet decisions here today, Information Minister Baskota argued that the MCC was not part of the Indo-Pacific Strategy.

He further urged all not to talk on baseless issues as it was not connected with Indo-Pacific Strategy.

Banskota clarified that there was no single point in the MCC pact that says that Nepal will support US Military activities.

He said that the grant to be provided by the USA through the pact will be utilized in infrastructure development and transmission line extensions.
