High Court’s interim order against strikes in banking sector

KATHMANDU: Patan High Court has issued an interim order not to organize any type of strike in bank offices as the banking sector is the essential sector.

A single bench of Judge Tek Narayan Kunwar on Wednesday issued the interim order not to organize any type of strike hampering the daily activities of any offices.

Upendra Bahadur Karki on the behalf of NADEP Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha, a microfinance institution, had filed a writ petition against the employees’ organization NADEP Laghubittiya Sanstha, at the Supreme Court.

The court has called both sides for discussion on January 1.
